Why Support the Race?
Everyone, regardless of ability, can reach their full physical, mental, and social-emotional potential with the appropriate supports and opportunities. And every person, regardless of their financial situation, should have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
At Ivymount Outreach, our goal is to help all children and young adults with disabilities reach their potential.
High quality services, however, are expensive and are not always covered by health insurance. Many families can’t afford the additional supports their children need (such as individual therapies, behavioral supports, therapeutic group programs, and a dedicated support aid).
Two years ago, we decided that we needed to do something to help alleviate part of the financial burden for Outreach families. We entered a 200 mile relay from Gettysburg, PA to Washington, DC to raise vital funds to help address the struggles our students and parents face: The Outreach Odyssey 200 Mile Relay was born.
This year, our goal is to raise enough money to completely eliminate the fees that our families pay for additional staffing supports. This will provide direct financial relief to Outreach’s most impacted families.
